Golf and TaiChi Testimonials.

Golf & Taichi/Martial Arts.

First, I am not a golf professional, only a beginner who is determinedly working to improve her game.

Golf is both a mental and physical sport. I have benefited in both aspects from my work in taichi and kung fu through the transference of martial arts principles to the game of golf: breath, physical cognition and conditioning,  psychological and physical stamina, and the acceptance of acting in the moment.

Knowing how to breathe efficiently and stand more effectively makes the golf stance and swing exponentially more powerful and more accurate. Maintaining the Taoist calm nothingness attitude allows one to play in the moment with what one possesses.

Training with weapons has improved my connection with the club, directing the mind and body into the action of the swing or stroke to produce the desired result, making the club an extension of the mind and body.

Martial arts training has added a huge degree of confidence and self-reliance to my game. There is a lot of yin/yang in golf.

The body learns mechanics and the mind sees the light.
